Employee Eligibility

To be eligible for an account with the MarylandSaves Program, an employee must be at least 18 years old and earning W-2 income in the State of Maryland. This applies to full-time, part-time, and temporary workers. Additionally, eligibility is based upon an employee's State of employment rather than their State of residence. Therefore, if an employee lives in a different State, but earns their wages in and pays income taxes for Maryland, they will still be eligible for an account with the MarylandSaves Program assuming they meet the other eligibility criteria outlined by state law.
